VATICAN CITY, 24 FEV 2011 (VIS). At noon, the Hall-of-the Holy See Press has confirmed that the Holy Father today received Mr. Michel Sleiman, President of the Republic of Lebanon, who then met with Cardinal Secretary of State the Secretary for Relations with States. These interviews were an opportunity emphasized that, "under its multi-faith composition, Lebanon is a message of freedom, respect and coexistence for the region as for the rest of the world. It shows the need for increased interfaith dialogue. The parties welcomed engagement of civil and religious authorities to better educate consciences in peace and reconciliation, and said they hope the new government promotes the stability of a country called to address important domestic issues like international. The Discussions were also allowed to discuss the regional situation, particularly recent events in some Arab countries, and express the common conviction of an urgent settlement of ongoing conflicts. Particular attention was finally dedicated to the delicate situation of Christians in the Middle East, and their contribution to the general good of society ".
